Holy fucking shit this iPod is pissing me off. It's just constantly locking up and being as uncooperative as possible.

Bring it in and replace it, or do a restore on it and move the content over fresh. Mine doesn't have any of those problems. Sure, occasionally an app will crash if it uses too much memory, but that's to be expected and it's rare enough that it doesn't bother me. My sister's 2G Touch was saying it wasn't connected, then froze when I was trying to update it to iOS 4.2.1 and had to restore, but it worked perfectly fine afterward.

Of course, both are jailbroken now, so that could be why it's fine. That's why I was updating hers to 4.2.1 in the first place.

It's a 3rd gen. Not 3rd gen touch. Not 3rd gen Nano. Just 3rd gen. Period. Monochromatic screen. Apps didn't even exist then I just want to use it for music in my car...
