I love how this download is taking longer than I'm even likely to play the game.

I get where you're coming from. I still have my PSX and PS2. Which eventually led me to getting the PS3. I really like it too, the 60GB version that is.
Although I do have this to say about the PS3. It's one of the few systems I've seen that has lost features with almost every new upgrade.
I've still got a PS2 but my PSX died ages ago. I'm sure it could have been fixed with a simple laser replacement or something, but I was only vaguely aware of such things at the time.
I'm late to the PS3 party, I've only had my 160GB slim since last October, so I'm a little less aware of what's been taken away from each upgrade. The only thing that comes to immediate attention is backwards compatibility for the PS2, but I have a PS2 that's only a couple of years old. And of course, I don't have any PSX games of my own lying about, but the few I have popped in for a moment out of curiosity worked just fine.
Id prolly just get LittleBigPlanet and Killzone Liberation Since I dont have them legit on my psp, Already own on UMD Pursuit Force and Modnation Racers doesnt seem my cup of teathe “Welcome Back” package, the specifics are laid out very nicely. PS3 and PSP users will be able to download two free games from the PSN from a specific list. PS3 has five choices and PSP has four.
Those titles are:
PS3 - Dead Nation, infamous, LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust HD, and Wipeout HD + Fury
PSP – LittleBigPlanet, ModNation Racers, Pursuit Force, and Killzone Liberation
The games will be available for the 30 days after the Store returns and will be counted as permanent purchases. Therefore, you can redownload them should you have to delete them. The PS Blog doesn’t make it clear whether owners of a PS3 and PSP get to download two for each system or just two between the systems.
Next, all non-current Playstation Plus PSN users get a free 30-day subscription. Current PS+ subscribers will receive a free 60-day subscription extension. Current members of Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive a free 30-day extension of the free premium subscription. Finally, a free 30-day + time lost extension will be given to current Music Unlimited Premium/Basic members.
As for non-membership related bonuses, Sony will do an “On Us” Movie Rental weekend, providing a select number of titles for all users to view all Weekend long through the PS Store. Also, 100 virtual items for Playstation Home will be made available free of charge. These 100 items do not include the free feature upgrades that will be issued within the same timeframe. Sony hasn’t listed what the specific items will be, or what they will pertain to. A date for the free movie rental weekend hasn’t been decided yet either.
The package should be available at the time of the of the Store’s return, but keep your eyes pealed to the PS Blog (linked below) for the official details and news.
I Loled
I May end up having Servere issues even getting the games... Media Go bloody sucks and keeps crashing every time i go to open it >.< all after one of there "updates" not to mention after install my pc has been slow as shit, HDD Access never stops..You may have noticed that the content promised as part of the Welcome Back offer is not yet live. It is currently in the final stages of testing and will be available to download very soon; we’ll be sure to let you know when.
Other than PS2 support, the other big one was Linux. Hardware-wise, my 60GB also has a multi-flash card reader and four USB ports. I'm sure the reason behind cutting said features were to save the consumer money. Other than cutting Linux, that was supposedly to save them from being hacked.
Although, look where it really got them. Now you can install Linux and have full hypervisor access. Meaning access to all of the PS3s processing power. Not like Sony's old OtherOS that was dumbed-down and limited. Also, I have read on PSX-Scene that there is supposedly a hacker/s threatening to attack Sony yet again.
The Sony drama is not over.
Ah, Linux. Well, that's not particularly something I would probably be interested in. I also never use more than one USB port at a time, and I barely use the multi-card reader that's in my computer.
I heard about the rumored future attacks as well.Stupid people, I hate them.
