You know those things do have a limited number of write cycles, right? It's probably near that limit and it keeps grinding to a halt because it's having trouble finding blocks that are still writable.

With the new dashboard update that's being rolled out now, all old consoles that don't support the AP25 checks will be unable to read any games (every game is having AP25 added).

So MS are replacing the old consoles that are unable to read discs with the new update for 250GB slims. Not sure if it's free or what. But I should go on a hunt for some old 360s.
