Hey, may we copy paste description from wikipedia and edit it a bit?
I found out Breath of Fire IV [U] have almost same description with wikipedia.
    http://www.emuparadise.org/Sony_Play..._%5BU%5D/36625
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breath_of_Fire_IV
There are many people trying hard to make their own descriptions to make the reader to be interested to playing the game.
So it might be wrong to copy paste from wikipedia even with a little edit.

    - NO WIKIPEDIA, this is not high school consider all that deleted. There's no way to win submitting someone else's work, we are checking it.
    - I want to be benevolent but c'mon, some of you, if you really have something to tell us about a game, I'm sure you can write more than a couple of lines..

    Tomorrow, the pics!

Keep all your descriptions and reviews coming, gals and guys!
Hmm..No wikipedia, doesn't that mean take description from another site would be considered equally? Cuz i have seen people take the description other than wikipedia too..
These two as far as i looking same with the another site
    1.Chrono Cross (U)
The description from pontinho is same with one of the reader comment
    http://www.emuparadise.org/Sony_Play..._%5BU%5D/36679
    http://metacritic.org/games/platforms/psx/chronocross
    2.Digimon World 3 (U)
    http://www.emuparadise.org/Sony_Play..._%5BU%5D/36776
    http://digimon.game4shared.com/psx-digimon-world-3.html

Note: You could find the same description easyly with copy the description from this site first then paste it to Ctrl+F in the sites they take the description.
Even still, there is still a possibility that some descriptions do the same trick as well
    Okay, thanks!

Pretty sure they just overlooked it. Descriptions must be 100% your own work. No Wikipedia, no review sites, no nothing.

Well, there's something I thought right now, for example, I made a description for Super Mario Bros., it's 1 game, the same gameplay for everyone who plays it, the opinion of the game should be different from one person to another, but the 'description' to the game will be pretty much the same - "Mario, a plumber who is going to save the princess from bowser". And since this is the internet, there's a high probability that someone somewhere has written almost the same thing about this game, so if you Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V that frase in google, there's the chance that it may be found in more than a thousand sites. This is a contest, so we cannot try to disqualify everyone who seems to have cheated, unless it's too obvious, like in some cases up there.

Um, please excuse me, I'm somewhat new around here.
How many 3DSes are going to be given away?

I love doing game descriptions and reviews on my spare time so I could write full-depth about any game I've played (in fact, I've already done so, but not posted anything before).
That also brings me to a second question: should I write neutral reviews, or just plain descriptions?
Oh, that leads me to a third question: how long are said descriptions meant to be?
My review of Vigilante 8-2 took me up about three whole pages of arial 10.
And that brings me to a third question: will you check the overall quality of the posts?
I mean, I can write for ages but not do it properly; say, not using punctuation symbols, abusing the word "epic" or simply not using caps.
Could you tell me how strict are you actually going to be?

    EDIT: Adding fourth question
Do all the reviews have to be positive? I mean, sure, you're hosting games for people to play but there are some games that absolutely have no defense (i.e. Superman 64, E.T. for Atari, and such - those universally known as awful games)

To my knowledge, only one. I'd be surprised of anything more than that. (They're not exactly cheap.)

I have no problem capturing shots myself with GB, GBA, and DS games, but everything else is tricky. I try to only post unmarked high quality shots that look like they were distributed by the game's publisher (unless they're marked with the publisher's/developer's name, then I think it's actually quite nice). It can be a little tough finding good shots for 10 plus year old games, though. Most of them are so small that I end up needing to resize them too.
If I notice they are marked I delete them. We have emulators, we have games, it's not that hard to take a few pics instead of posting marked pics.

There are ways to check if it's a blatant copy and whether it's just a sole case or if all the submissions by a given someone are like that.

1- One 3DS and one Megaupload Premium account/week, those are the prizes

2,3&4- They are descriptions/mini-reviews, you can be subjective if you want, your personal opinion on the game matters since it's you who sign the text. If you liked the game and you want to motivate the reader to go and play it, it's perfectly fine. And the contrary too, if a game is a waste of time the reader would like to know some opinions about it beforehand.
They aren't proper reviews, so a few lines are ok (if there were enough interest we'd bring the Reviews section back, where texts like the Vigilante 8 you mentioned would have their place), we aren't been too strict, it's open to everyone, after all. What we want is that people have an indication of what kind of game are they going to download if they never heard of it before.

If the sentence just only one or two sentences, it might be a coincidence, but if that appeared in three until more sentences, i don't think it's possible,
it's same hard as you can get zero from 100 hard multiple choice.
There are so many words can be composed to make a sentence but the guy can composed the words to become identical sentence, and yet it repeated for more than three sentences,
i wonder how could that happen.

    That sounds good for me.

I have four more questions now. I hope you don't mind me asking.
One, I think it's been asked before, is if we can post descriptions of games that already have been reviewed.
I went all and posted an edit of my Vigilante V8 review without checking first if someone else had done it. Will it still weigh on my total credit/point/etc count?

Second is if <we contestants> have any way to know who has got the biggest amount of contribution points.

Third would be: do you have a specific time set for uploading approved descriptions and screenshots?

And lastly, if the total contribution amount gets reset with each week or the number keeps going up until the end of the month.

As you can see I'm really excited for this and I want to make sure I do everything I can to win!

To answer you first question, yes, it will count. Already reviewed games can be reviewed again, but it would be nice to see some variety as well so games without any description can get some love too. But that's up to you, gals and guys.
    NINJA EDIT: Gare is quick!
And I'll leave the second question to MasJ cos I don't know. As I said it's absolutely impossible for me to provide up date details like that.

Well, typing three words doesn't take much skill. I'm not that fast.

3rd question: Should've read the first post by MasJ, the deadline is there. March 27th.

4th: Why would they reset our entries each week? Makes no sense. Just keep submitting stuff, if it gets approved, it won't be lost.

No what I meant for the 3rd question was something different:
I've submitted a number of descriptions. Those need to be given approval.
Do you have a specific time of the day for um... approving posts?
