Default Can't get my roms running

I finally got the epsxe up and running, but I can only play the games I have cds for. I got a valkyrie profile rom thats a 7z file and all i get is a black screen with a controller Icon with the analog box. If some can also help get my RAR files running that will also work.

In order to play those games you have to extract the image file first, have a look at the Newbie guide Ragnar wrote:

Okay I got the files extracted using zipitfree, but I ran into an error message when I tried to run the program

    *Errorloadingisofile:[J:\VideoGames\Gamefiles\ps1\legendofthe
Dragoon\Legend of Dragoon, The(USA)(Disc2)\Legend of Dragoon,
    The(USA)(Disc2).ISO]

I use 7zip to extract. It works great for .7z and .rar.
If you are running from a virtual drive (run cdrom from the ePSXe file menu) with a program like Daemon tools you have to check the letter of the drive DT created and set your cdrom plugin to look for that drive.
If you are trying run ISO from the ePSXe file menu, it might help to run it from the .cue or .ccd instead of the .iso.

Of course this is assuming that you have all the proper BIOS, Plugins, and .dll files needed to run your version of ePSXe. If not, then you can find a nice bundle on Emuparadise.org. There is a link at the bottom of this page, then look on the left side nav bar for Hosted @ EP: Emulators. This will give you a list, chose Sony Playstation, and find the ePSXe Bundle. Feel free to go ahead and replace your current installation, it shouldn't harm your .iso's.

Any .dll files you need can be found using google, just put them in the folder with ePSXe.exe and extract them until you get the .dll file you need. There are as many as 3 that you might need to find for this emulator.

It's best to just use 7-zip, it should be able to handle all the files I upload, as is.

If you'd prefer Winrar you may need to un-split the files first with HjSplit. I always span files larger than ~500MB with HjSplit
Using 7zip is better, like Ragnar said, because it will join split files automatically, essentially you just extract the first part of the split file, and then extract the resulting file to get your game file. No need for HjSplit with 7zip XD

I'm already using Pete's OpenGL2 driver 2.9, ePSXe spu core 1.7.0, and either mooby2c disk image driver 2.8 or EPSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.7.0

I already have Legend of Dragoon, The (USA) (Disc 3).cue. .it still won't run. Regular ps games will still work

try Searching for it here or looking on the emuparadise.org games section for a new download. It could simply be a corrupted download.

Is that actually the extension of the game, or is it a different format? I know the error says .iso, but a quick search revealed somebody having the same issue when trying to run a .img.ecm file (and his message also said ".iso"), so if that's your problem you need to grab ECM Tools and drag the file ending in .ecm onto unecm.exe, and run the resulting file.

a .cue is, as I understand it, an index of the games music files. It is completely useless without a .img, a .bin, or a .iso which should be several hundred MB. If you only have the .cue, you will need a new download.

The one guy who talked about the emc file is correct, don't view the file through your emulator, go into your file manually and you'll see a cue file and an bin.emc file, your emulator won't pick it up because it doesn't recognize it as is.

http://www.neillcorlett.com/ecm/ download it there and then go to your emc file file, select open and find your unemc as the other user said.

I had this same problem and that is the solution.
