Yes, but I intentionally excluded all the software on this PC for that reason. I didn't even accept the Microsoft Works. I think it came with XP Media Center and a trial for AOL.

The old XP laptop, on the other hand, came with about 12 icons in the system try and a 3 minute boot.

Ya know, I really hope my iPod, PS3 and DS still connect. If not, I'm going to Redmond.

Was it a Toshiba Satellite? I swear it sounds just like my lappy when I got it, I booted it up once to backup the drivers and then formatted it, then installed a retail copy of XP and kubuntu, then had to fight to get the right updated drivers for XP because some of the backups were fucked or I just didn't back them up in the first place (like the display). Toshiba's installers didn't work right and occasionally had files missing/corrupt (usually and inf or cab). Even ATi failed me, I ended up using omega's for display drivers =D

Have you tried just using a system restore? That should revert the updates. It's *supposed* to make a restore point before it applies any updates.

If I went to Redmond, it wouldn't be for M$, I'd be heading to NOA, and the game studios that are located throughout the Seattle area.

My Toshiba Satellite takes less than a minute to boot.

Don't tell Sprung, but I am just telling him that to make him jealous.

Erm, turned it off as in disabling the service alltogether or just by saying "don't create restore points?"
