CHONGQING, China, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- A Chinese superstore where three shoppers died and 31 were injured while chasing a good deal was ordered to close while officials investigate.
Shoppers in China's Shapingba District began lining up about 4 a.m. Saturday outside international superstore Carrefour, which was selling cooking oil normally priced at $6.90 for $1.50, Xinhua said.
The cooking-oil sale was part of Carrefour's promotions celebrating its 10th anniversary in the densely populated city.
