Default Adding subtitles to a movie

I recently downloaded Noriko's Dinner Table AKA Noriko no Shokutaku from Veoh tv. That being said I was told that I was supposed to get the subtitles file from asian-subs.net which I did.

The Problem I have now is that I don't know how to put the subtitles in the movie file, or if there is such a way to do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The subtitles should be a .srt or something like that. Just put them in the same folder as the movie itself, and make sure it has the exact same name. EXAMPLE:

I have braveheart, and I want german subtitles, so in the fodler braveheart would have 2 (or more) files:

    Download Links:
Links are hidden from guests. Please register to be able to view these links. Just open braveheart.avi and the .srt file will load with it. Some players don't support subtitles btw, but I know media player classic does. I normally get it in the k-lite codec pack

VLC Media Player is a good alternative. Google it and give it a try.

I believe it supports most video types right out of the gate, no extra codecs necessary, and it also features subtitle support. It's worth a look.

That's the one I use, too.

It's in our Big List Of Free Apps thread, too.

but you then have to find all your movies in .ogm or .mkv or a similar format.

actually never mind i tested it and it works with .avi with a .sri in the same dir.

Download and install the Combined Community Codec Pack and you'll be able to play virtually any video file.

Also comes with FFDShow, Haali Media Spliter and VSFilter for video/audio, dual-language, and subtitle support.

also .sub and.txt subtitle files. I think those are the most used ones. Or what I've used atleast.
