US live action tv is about the same right now imo. Animation though...my age probably factors in but I felt like American animation was taking good steps in the 90s and then it all went to shit.The 90s - that magical period when TV didn't suck and PC gaming was still a thing.

It's part of what makes deck construction (in regards to draw consistancy) a key aspect of yu-gi-oh. In Magic you can make greedy decks that will mull aggressively (sometimes with mull rates of over 50%) because they likely have some kind of nut draw that doesn't require that many cards.
I know nothing about Pokemon.
