Default Controller won't work with some games

The game works fine and so does the controller, but sometimes with some game files the controller won't work. If I start emulating another game the controller responds. Does someone knows what this might be?

    This.

Although it may be as simple as switching from analog to digital depending on the game if emulating PS1 but we don't even know which sony system he's emulating

That seems like the most plausible answer, some PSX games will not respond if the controller is in analog mode, it has to be in standard mode in order to play.

So we're guessing he's on ePSXe and should press F5 to switch analog/digital controller mode.

Use Xbox 360 Mode for Ps3 controllers you can play every emulator perfectly with this mode in mind and you also get PC access which is radical.

Sorry for the lack of info. I use pcsx and I use 360 mode for the ps3 controller.
