Not ever two things I've seen go together before.
I actually know a good amount of people who like it a lot. Hell I know some who like it more than a chunk of the older games.

Really the only issue with it, which apparently is fixed in 13-2.

Didn't really get why XIII was all that bad either. I didn't think it was great, but didn't hate it for what it was. It's linear as hell, but then so was X. I think it could have done with some towns and quieter moments like X to make it less apparent just how much of a conveyer belt you were on, mind, but the two were really not so different in terms of linearity. I think XIII's biggest problem was launching in an era where that kind of interactive movie style of RPG was rapidly going out of fashion with most players. I feel like it would have been much better received had it launched as a late PS2 title as was originally planned, and it was probably hurt by a development cycle that was waaaaay too long. It entered development after FFX-2, and I think that really shows in its design. Totally behind the times and out of fashion by the time it came out.

Yeah, I can't personally verify yet, but apparently 13-2 solved this partially. Then 13-3 I've never researched. I'll probably play those on the PC first just to see if I would mind getting them on PS3 also or not. Personally might not even worry about it considering the 13 grind for trophies is going to be insane enough.
