It should look good enough on a CRT that supports component input. You only really need extra stuff (video processor and such) if you are going to play it on an HDTV. Aside from that you just need one of the models that supports video out and the cord itself.

PSP1000 is the original model right? Unfortunately it was never designed to work with an external display, the hardware physically doesn't support it. The slim version was the first that did.

I have one of those cords and a psp 1001. I think I checked it before but it wouldn't work on my tv or my tv didn't have the right plugs on the back.I'll check it again.

The article is a bit bullshit though claiming that the 3k adds video out, as I have a battery hackable 2k model (very specifically wanted this model) that I was playing via television earlier tonight.
