What would the CD drive play anyway...PSX games? I thought this was before Sony went off and did their own thing so would it actually be capable of playing those games or was it designed for stuff that was never actually released.

Yes. But the CD drive may be fixable.

It's very likely that the CDROM data is accessible by means of the basic memory map. The pc-engine for example is an 8-bit console with 700MBs of rom. The Nintendo playstation console would just be an snes with a massive amount of rom.

I believe that the capacity and speed would open up the possibility of FMV playback and high quality audio , but not much else.

BTW. I survived the bomb threat. Turns out some individual with a driver actually dropped a bomb off in the building next door. He threw it in the revolving doors and labeled it "open me"
