    Default Malware free ISO converter/ripper

I'm looking to convert bin/cue files to cdi and various other file formats. Is there a disc image converter that's free and doesn't have malware I can use?

Its best to leave CDs as bin/cue because that is the best suited format for them, you are talking about CD images right?

Right. I actually do need to convert them into CDI, CCD+IMG+SUB, MDS+MDF, or ISO though. Preferably CDI or CCD. I'd also like to rip my own files from the games I physically have. I guess I'm stuck with discjuggler or clone cd, but I'd love to find a way to do it with free software that's free of malware.

What conversions for what platforms are you talking about though? I thought cdi was mostly for dreamcast

Why must they be everything but Bin/cue?

iso is a no go for CDs because a iso can not store/read the cd audio such as in a music cd.

The best standard image maker is imgburn, isobuster is a decent choice too.

Doesn't imgburn only rip and use bin/cue? I'm not familiar with isobuster...

Regardless of what format you have and whatever you feel like converting to, the easiest conversion option is always:
    1) Mount random image to a virtual drive
    2) Rip image with the software appropriate to whatever format you like
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

It's simpler to mount the image you already have in Daemon Tools Lite (or something similar) and then point the emulator to that virtual drive as though it was a physical disk. Emulators will not worry about formats when you do this.

Or is this not related to Sony emulation?

He mentioned he wanted to convert to MDS/MDF (among other things)...do any emus even use that format? I thought it was just for alcohol

    I can't figure this out

Edit: Also, CDI. Is that needed for Sony emulation at all?

All PSX emulation needs is bin/cue or ccd, rest is redundant and the good emus dont even support the unneeded formats.

Micro Magic hasn't mentioned anything about emulation usage, that may not be the point at all. He might just have weird OCD archival preferences.

I wouldn't suggest Daemon Tools anymore. It was great back on XP, but current versions needed for current OS's apparently include malware/spyware. If he already has Alcohol 120% installed, then he has a virtual drive. Alcohol 120% isn't supposed to be free though

I've seen games for ePSXe in MDF+MDS format, and running them with Daemon Tools worked fine. Saves taking the time to re-rip them as iso

Open isobuster, drag the MDS into isobuster, extract to bin then save the cue.

Its that simple and easy and takes no time at all.
