who will win the console war?

what console(s) do you think will survive the console war?

Personally... i think that the PS2 is going to continue at #1.
with the Game Cube at a distant 2nd place.
does anyone here have an XBOX? i have heard that they sell ok (not as good as GC, not anywhere close to PS2)
but i have not met anyone that actually has one. who here thinks that XBOX will survive. then again, i dont know anyone that has an GC either. lol

I happen to totally agree with you on this one. I think it will be PS2 followed by the GC with Microsoft trailing, but not by much. However, only time and sales will tell. So all the speculation in the world aint worth squat. Though it will be fun to see peoples opinions and rampant speculations on this matter.

EDIT: To answer you question, I own an X-Box. I own all three next-gen systems in fact. Thats why I really dont care about things such as RE being GC exclusive or Rare moving to Microsoft.

You're a rich man cyber :p. Frankly speaking, we can't really say, but according to latest figures, XBOX outsold the GC by about 15,000 units..

where did you read that xbox is beating GC?
the last time i read some stats, XBOX was trailing GC by almost 20 thousand units.
they 're almost not even on the radar in japan. i think xbox has sold under 10 thousand units there the last time i heard.

I don't know anyone who owns an xbox, mainly because they aren't out here . Not that I know anyone who's going to get one, either... my mate's gonna get a gamecube for his birthday, pity that's sometime in December, so I'm gonna have to wait a while before I steal it and play Super Smash Bros Melee and Mario Sunshine . I bought a ps2 on launch day, and I know a few people who also have them.

I would say PS2 because at this board RPG's are the most popular (from what I've seen anyways) and it has many of them in the wings being produced

I got the systems through some pretty crafty dealing. See, at Bookmans employees can buy any NES game for a dollor, and SNES game for 2, and any N64 game for 5. This is regardless of thier actually street worth. So I would buy a bunch of relatively rare NES games for around maybe....75 bucks, and turn around and sell them to Software Etc, and make pure profit. Once I got around 500 dollars in trade credit with all the stuff I took in. Thats how I got my X-Box. The GC my roomate and I went in together on, and the PS2 he bought.

I think it will B ps2 and GC coming second unless sony screw up like sega did during the genesis days. to tell you the truth I think microsoft should stick to making OS's & pc software. the thought of microsoft dominating videogames makes me ill that's why when our beloved rare was bought by microsoft a single tear rolled dowm my cheek. cuz if activision bought rare then they'd be likely to make rare games multiplatform .
