After thinking about it I think the only game I would go back and play is Ogre Battle 64. SM64 is great but it's on DS so yeah.

I found Mario on DS hard to play, D-pad and all.

Lesser of two evils a bit.

Certainly no contest with Ocarina and MM.

DS controls totally ruined a great game. I think it could possibly work on the new 3DS.

    Clearly needs an HD upscale/port!

A new revision? Coolness~~ Would play if you have a link to a yo ho ho and a bottle of rum copy and the relevant software! I actually bought a copy of AA for the PS2 when I was in Japan, but had nobody to play with.

And I'm not overpowered. I don't think I even remember the controls. Then again, my play style never really required me to be... you know... competent at actually pressing buttons. :'D /lolnofinemotorskills

Have tried getting into the N64 so many times over the years given that I never had one growing up and it's probably the only retro console (it counts as retro now, right?) with a library that I've barely dipped into. But something about most of the games I tried never grabbed me. Wish I had played at least Ocarina of Time and Mario 64 back in the day, when they were still super-revolutionary and new, but I think the ship might have sailed now for me and the N64.

Have been playing lots of PCEngine games recently too! Never played it growing up, but something about the console and its library feels like childhood to me in a way that not many other things do. Any game recommendations you have are welcome~! :3

    PRETTY EASY, RIGHT PUFFY?
    PUFF PUFF!

COME, POWER OF THE UNIVERSE! HAHHHHH, DRAGON KING SLICE!

    OH FLAME BURN 'EM!

Yeah, you're not going to hear any argument from me. If ever a game merited an undub or redubbing to modern standards... :'D A retranslation wouldn't go amiss, either. Still think it's one of the best RPGs from that era, though, and easily among my favourite games. It does the whole grand adventure thing that lots of JRPGs aim for better than nearly any other game in my memory. Replayed it in Japanese on the Saturn during my year abroad, and it was just as lovely as I remembered. Your first time playing it?

Ocarina plays pretty well on the Cube.

I'm only $750 in to it at the moment.

And hmm, your Japanese is infinitely better than mine so that opens up more games to you. Though most are playable with very limited knowledge of Japanese anyway. I forget are shmups too hard for you? That's mostly what I've been playing. Lots of platformer/adventure games in the mail though.

Actually, when I gave away nearly all of my videogames last year in preparation for moving abroad, Grandia was one of the only ones I held onto. It didn't feel like it'd be right not having it on my shelf~
