THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

    This is dumb shit:

I can't copy my save file for Far Cry 4, Wolfenstein The New Order, Call of Duty Ghosts, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, and some others to my new PS4 2TB HDD. Why? Because I don't own the games to install them, so it will allow me to copy the data. It also won't let me re-download the data from PS+ storage either until the game's data is installed on my PS4. That's stupid, I suppose it's not that bad because at least some of them are stored in PS+ storage until I get the game again, if ever.

The PS4 is very fussy in regard to what you can and can't do with your own content. As bad as the XBone's original DRM was, I do wonder if Sony had something similar planned and had to backpedal veeeeerrrry quickly when they saw the reaction. This sort of thing almost seems like a leftover they forgot to (or couldn't) patch out.

Yeah, I was like what? I can't even put my own saved data back onto my new hard drive because I don't have the game data installed? I don't own the game anymore but also don't want to lose my save.

Guessing you can't just delete your installed games and do a full hard drive backup and transfer like on the PS3?

In other news I need to stop playing Elite Dangerous. It's a gorgeous sunny day and I've spent most of it indoors smuggling space weed across the universe.

Yeah, that's a thing. Haven't got a drive to do that with though, it's cool. The saves are still in the cloud, for when I eventually get a game back which I'm moaning about.

    Sounds like serious business.

Spent some time out in the sun on Thursday and actually got a bit of sun burn. Must be the first time ever.

The Christmas miracle will be if you're still tanned by Christmas

That's easily solved. As a bonus I'd get to annoy DL in person.
