Default Heroes of Might and Magic 2

    Hello fellow paradise....ers? paradisers? w/e

    Whaddup,

So i just stumbled upon the link for Heroes of Might and Magic 2 and instantly downloaded it.
As far as i could tell, it did not require any Emulator (why would it, its a PC game?) and i clicked that INSTALL.exe ..
Won't let me install, it just tells me it's not compatible, even when i try to use compatibility-mode for XP.

    Heres my Specifications:
    Laptop. Asus K53SK
    Intel Core i5-2450M CPU @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs)
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics Family, DAC is internal.
    DirectX 11
    Ram: 8192MB DDR2
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

I hope somebody can help, as this was my favourite game for a long time..

It is either a Windows version but 16bit or a Dos prog

Windows 7 64bit only supports 32bit and 64bit apps Windows 7 (32bit) supports 32bit progs and 16bit progs but not 64 bit progs

Dos progs are easy enough to run via dosbox

from the comments for it though I would say it is the older dos version so because of that you are in luck as you can run it via dosbox that is a DOS x86 emulator

    Thanks for the quick reply

I tried it with the dosboxand it seems to work... for 3 seconds, then i cant proceed as i do not have the necessary CD-Rom to play the game. Is there a way to avoid the Game checking if you have the CD? Or Can i just mount the CD on Daemon Tools?

Read the comments left I believe you mount the folder directly in DosBox as a CD though

Do not use external CD mounting software though with DosBox it can do that directly itself

You may want a front end for though as it is not that noob friendly and a front end can make it a bit more easy going for new users to it

could always see if GoG.com has it too. http://www.gog.com/game/heroes_of_mi...2_gold_edition if all else fails, you could get it from there. i've yet to see any game from gog require any cd's to run.

Just a tip : When downloading something, go to the comment section first if it had one. Because if there's any problem on the game/file you are downloading, you would eventually find it there.
