Default MAME osx .135 on MAC with osx 10.5.8

so I got mame osx .135 running on a older mac with osx 10.5.8
got the program running ok for some games like Moonwalker, turtles arcade, and a few others which is great but I cant seem to find the correct roms for the games I really want (sf2,mk's, double dragon,etc...)
Is it just the versions of the roms I am downloading? from what Ive gathered mame osx kind of got left behind. is there a better version of mame for my os? should I start looking for a PC to get just for gaming? any advise would be great. thanks

Im sure the latest MAME is on Mac, you need to have the correct rom set for that version of MAME.

Il PM you on where to go to get the latest Rom sets.

thats the problem. im running a older osx and cant get the newest version of mame and every site seems to have new roms. Im sure we are not suppose to ask where to get older roms so would you suggest I just upgrade my computer so I can get sdlmame for mac or hunt for the right roms for mame .135?

you could do that, Final Burn Alpha is to me the best arcade emu even though its selection is much smaller.

The games you mentioned are not emulated in FBA yet.

You'll definitely have an easier time running MAME on Windows. I say this as a fellow Mac user.

How old is the Mac? I've no way of testing but it seems you can still get PPC compatible builds of even the latest versions of SDLMAME, albeit unofficially compiled. From a link on the SDLMAME home page: Download Links:
