MAME - ROMs update and CHD update

Hi, I have downloaded MAME 0.152 ROMs FULL Set [merged] (28.2GB) and MAME 0.153 CHDs (311GB) from a torrent source.

Can I download the update pack files from emuparadise and update my ROM set?

If I can use the update packs, should I update to 0.153 (to match the CHDs) or to 0.161?

Do the update pack files (from emuparadise) also update the CHDs or do I have to get the updated CHDs from another source?

rom update packs from us is fine

CHD's just download what was updated from our main site, it will not be that many of them but they tend to be large files

Though do note that most games that use CHD file do not even work yet, so you may find that a lot of the CHD's have no real use anyway yet

Judt one more question, should I just update the rom set to 0.153 or to the latest available version 0.160?

I assume thatmy CHDs pack will work with 0.160.

Whatever you update to make sure the actual program MAME is the same version

the latest is 0.161 though the main site roms have just been updated from what the boss was saying the other day

With every update of mame it is not just new roms/chd's that are added but also a lot of updated roms and chd's so some of the older ones become un-usable

if you need an older version of MAME, MAMEUI has a back log at http://www.progettosnaps.net/mameui/ both 32bit that I recommend and 64bit that is a bit buggy though most games just work as they should do asides from the actual MAME engine that is not complete yet for a large amount of games
