My very favorite VG character though is Owyn from Betrayal at Krondor, because he has some kick-ass magic spells.

When I hear "best character", I think of the characters with the most to them. The most developed. Mario has had plenty of gret games but as far as him as a "character" well it's pretty boring. I mean Mario, D.K., and others like that were pretty shallow compared to Square's characters. The F.F. characsters or Chrono were very deep, well thought out characters. Of course I wouldn't have grouped ALL of the F.F. characters together but as it stands I'll vote for them.
