Default MAMEUI Audit giving wrong SHA1?

    Hi guys,

I have this 'b17jaa02.chd' for Guitar Freaks 7th Mix (G*B17 VER. JAA) ('gtrfrk7m.zip') and MAMEUI Audit reported incorrect checksum. Wrong checksum is not a problem.

    MAMEUI Audit

    gtrfrk7m : b17jaa02 - INCORRECT CHECKSUM:
    EXPECTE SHA1(daf23982abbab882882f89b3a9d985df36252cae)
    FOUN SHA1(d38dc22011b71b0e4167f1728a8794ea4b9c5396)

The issue is, I have downloaded twice from (http://www.emuparadise.me/M.A.M.E._-...ER._JAA)/13405), but the SHA1 generated using Microsoft File Checksum Integrity Verifier tool (FCIV) from http://www.microsoft.com/en-sg/downl....aspx?id=11533 were different from MAMEUI Audit! This is the SHA1 generated from FCIV:

    df20612c1c5d3866ae922f46e2279e30b6f71ae2

    What could be the problem?

    Please enlighten.

    Thank you!

i...don't see what all that has to do with running the game.

as of MAMEUI 0.154...this game is listed red as in not working. just checked the latest version (0.160) and yep, still listed as red. if it's listed in red then most likely the game simply isn't working yet at all.

sorry but from what i can tell, the game doesn't work with MAME yet. it says both the video and sound emulation aren't 100% accurate anyway so i doubt it'd look or sound all that good.

Hi treos, thanks for your reply. Yes, I am aware that the game is not fully working yet. The issue is that if MAMEUI Audit is not even reporting the correct SHA1 checksum, I wouldn't know if my CHDs downloaded are the correct one...

What version of MAME are you using?

If you are using a different rom/chd than what MAME ver it is built for you are probably going to face some problems.

If you wish to know where to get the latest rom/chd sets let me know and il help you out.

Hi Warrior, I'm using MAMEUI64 0.161 (please excuse my noob-ness, I believe is running on MAME 0.161). The issue is on the incorrect SHA1 checksum reported by MAMEUI64 Audit feature. Tested on MAMEUI64 0.160 is still having the same issue.

    Refer to attached.

If there is no solution is alright, I will just wait for newer release of MAMEUI64.

    Thanks all!

Does this MAME build give the same hash?

    http://www.emucr.com/2015/05/mame-plus-v0160-r5231.html

It has a ton of nice features, MAME PPK is just as good as MAME Plus.

Hi Warrior, thanks for your alternative suggestion. Tested but still the incorrect checksum using MAME Plus! v0.159 (because I'm having a hard time downloading v0.160 from their free file hosting websites. I downloaded v0.159 from SourceForge - http://sourceforge.net/projects/mame...s/releases/ui/).

I have generated a new SHA1 using another utility ('HashMyFiles v2.10' - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/hash_my_files.html) by NirSoft, and the checksum is the same generated from M$ FCIV utility.

Guess I will revisit this at a later stage. Will update this thread if I have any new findings.

    Thanks all!

You can simply report it on the forum at the site I sent you, they may be able to fix it.
