Super Wild Card Issues

Do you know that you're entering the commands correctly? I can't help much with a simple "it doesn't work"

ucon64 loaded up in CMD but nothing in that program has an option for splitting roms, im not going through a cable, im using an external usb floppy drive,all im doing is dragging the roms over to a floppy....and snestool wont load up in CMD cause says i need a 64bit version of it which acording to google there isnt one

All 32bit programs work in 64bit Windows OS

You must of got a 16bit version of the prog that will only work in a 32bit or 16bit Windows OS

That's what he started with. His SWC wasn't loading split roms from it. I donno why, I've never used that tool and I've never been a SWC guy.

Oh, should have read his posts again...


The SWC used to format floppies and split the files itself when you copied a cart. It's been too long since I've bothered with my SWC, I have a DX2 that uses zip discs or cd so no need to split. For my old Magicom, all the tools only worked on Win XP, but ucon64 32bit should work on 7/8.

thats the tool i said works but it splits only,when loading the first file in the swc it wont ask for 2nd file etc.. great program to split but thats all it does.... i did this years ago without a cable to my swc, i did it with the way im doing it now, only then it was a lesser windows (think xp) ucon64 loads up in CMD but u cant split the files unless yur using a cable.. and snestooltl12 woin cmd on windows 8.. and

How about you tell us what game you want split we try and split it for you then you can test that after

If it works we can tell you exactly how to do it yourself

Or dump an original game to floppy and upload those files so we can see what is done to files to span the game over floppy diskettes it may e a form of compression like zip rather than a raw split

I don't know enough of your kit to know this already

5 or so years ago i was using snestool12 on windowsXP because i had to recover old floppies that didnt work. the game isnt the issue i tried a bunch and they all do the same ,just load 1 file and thats it. small games work perfect with a drag and drop onto an external floppy usb drive.. since i cant open snestl12 on windows 8 (which is by far the worse windows ever lol) try it for me with any larger game thats over 1.44, try that program u posted... it splits but it doesnt split to allows the other files to be loaded when using the swc

I've just used snestool12 and DOSBox 0.74 and successfully split Donkey Kong Country (USA) into three parts. Try the attached files and let me know how it goes.

Edit. I'm using Win 7 64 bit, so not sure if it'll work on Win 8.

snestool is a 16bit Dos app

I presume XP was 32 bit so could run both 16 bit and 32 bit programs
Windows 8 if it's the 64 bit version can only run 64 bit and 32 bit programs

If I get time though I can always test snestool via a virtual PC running XP

Then if that works proceed to ucon64 and see if that has options that do it the same way

thank u bro...yeah when u split donkey kong did u load it up in yur SWC? thats where im having troubles...is wont look further than the 1st file...

the files u sent me worked 100% ,each file asked for next... now how in the hell do i get snestool12 to open on win8 64bit

I've not had the SWC out of the cupboard for years, I was waiting to see if it works on yours.

DCK might have been a bad choice, it will probably be one of the largest games, and possibly protected. But that shouldn't stop the SWC prompting for another disc.

Glad to see you managed to get it working. I was just about to dig out my old SNES CDs, I'm sure there are some that have the roms already split for old copiers.
