    ePSXe seems to be closed-source.

Not seemingly, it is closed source.

If you want something better I suggest looking into Mednafin and Retroarch/libretro.

That is by far the best PSX emulator/core that is open source .

Retroarch team has even got the PSX Mednafin core and tweaked it to make it better, its renamed Beetle , its part of Retroarch/Libretro as a option alongside the original Mednafin PSX core.
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

    Hello Warrior,

Thanks for the Retroarch mention, I've heard of it but never tried to out.

@minock I believe the source for epsxe itself is closed but the plugin api is open-source IIRC.
