NES RF shielding question
So I just finished pulling my old NES apart (original model), cleaning & adjusting the pins on the 72 pin connector, and putting it back together. During the process I found two RF shields (the sheet metal parts), one covering everything (sits on top) and another deeper down. I wasn't able to figure out how to get the deeper one back in, but managed to get the other one on.
I've tested a few games on it and it's working great, haven't had to do the reset-till-it-works dance yet, so the missing shield doesn't appear to be an issue. Still, I was wondering if anyone here has enough experience with the NES hardware to say whether or not leaving it out is a particularly bad idea.

One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"
