Pretty sure I was burning DVDs back on my old K7 machine - and I was running Win 98 SE.

there are ton of USB dos drivers,and yeah win98 burned dvd's

freedos does support usb up to 512mb.anything bigger it wont touch.as for my dvd drive,it reads cd's but wont read a dvd.
faulty laser i'm guessing.does the same in windows.
funny how people tend to advise away from what you want to do.reminds me of the harry enfield character

i am fully aware of what dos can and cant do.i used to use it back in the day.its just a matter of relearning it.its gonna be fun.

( this is what the computer loads After the config.sys
Config.sys is a File that is ran on boot,it loads drivers for the hardware,
say u have a app that needs uppermemory,well here is were u add Himem.sys for upper memory :

Just Really Fast u can make a 1.8mb Disk using 2mf30 it will format a 1.44mb disk to 1.8mb
BUT u must copy 2mf.sys to it after format if yer going to make it a Boot Disk,then type Sys c:\ a:
this will take the system drivers from c: and put them on A:
System Drivers for Boot Are :
Msdos.sys
io.sys
command.com

now ...If you use my "Normal Boot" then U Can run Anything....
BUT impulse Tracker... :) For That Use A Boot Floppy With The "Emm" Setup

As For NIC this Remains Unseen As My Nic Repeater STILL is not here....So Dos Internet Is On Hold Right Now

In the BOOT dir you will find IO.sys,Msdos.sys,Command.com

in that dir at the dos prompt type format a:\
then type sys c:\boot a:
this should make ya a msdos 7.1 boot disk
then choose yer poison On what One Of My Configs U Want...

For those of U COUGH TronCOUGH who use Freedos just edit the Equivalent Of Autoexec.bat and config.sys for free dos And Boot That Hooker Up,Ps i Still Have Not Figured out the Issue With Uae Dos Sound..Still werking on it tho

Thanks you for your update, though sucks for loosing a friend, so wish you the best at this time.

Personally I would still use Win98 to boot into dos mode atleast you can setup per game and just set the shortcut to reboot into dos with the setup for that game/software as there is no one setup that will work with everything

Never did like the mess on to get blaster cards working most games detected fine others I found I had to setup the sound card slightly different to get it working a few of the ones that game trouble had both music sound and sfx sound that a blaster can handle just fine but it's getting it to work in the first place sometimes, saying that I always managed back in the day... now I really feel old, that is going back a lot of years.

Very Busy With The Courts,But I Got Dillo And Aranche Working For Dos So i can Use It To Look Up Laws N Crap
While I Did i Made Everyone A Dos Internet Pack

Msdos(Or FreeDos) Internet
Use Your Pci Or Isa Packet Driver

In The Root Dir You Will Find A Sample "Autoexec.bat And Mouse.cfg"
The Autoexec Example Must Be Added To YOUR autoexec.bat or equivalent
Edit Up Mouse.cfg and put youe Name For IRC n stuff...
then Load Your Packet Driver And ...

1. Drift The Web Wilh Aranche Or Dillo
2. Chat On Irc,I Added Some .Bats For Freenode and a few others
3. Ftp
4. Telnet
Addon Pack
5. Run A Ftp Server
6. Run A Irc Server
Has Tcp/ip driver also
