    Default Best GBA Flash Cart?

What is the best GBA flash cart? The only one I can find with real reviews is the EZ-Flash IV. Is this the only viable option? The found that it requires a special program to format roms before loading them to the micro sd. Is that something that can be bypassed with a different card?

    Thanks!

AFAIK the EverDrive-GB is actually superior, but more expensive.

Looks like that one is Gameboy/Gameboy Color only. Correct?

Yes if you have GBA then the EZ-Flash IV is your only option atm. I think there was an M3 but EZ-Flash IV is the only one around now.
I don't think krikzz will bother making a GBA cart (but I could be wrong).

But for GB the everdrive is the way to go...it has a game genie built in and I think patching is only required for games with rtc stuff (although maybe gg can deal with that anyway idk).

I see. I guess I'll look into the EZ-Flash then.

Yeah I just thought everdrive was worth mentioning because no special software is required (SD up to 32GB, just drag'n'drop), has gg, and the only thing that can be considered bad about it is the lack of rtc support (but no cart has that afaik).

EZFA [256MBit and 512MBit ranges both had RTC, if I remember the biggest GBA rom is 256MBit, biggest game I think is only 128MBit though, it does have an optional multi rom menu, but also supported direct single rom support that was great for some GBA features] (not to be confused with the EZ-Flash range) impossible to find now but was a great kit (did not support SD cards but I think a later version did though) but the M3/M3 Lite kits (The Lite kite had an options normal sized GBA case for the kit and worked fine in a GBA) (Not to be confused by the Movie Players) had been the best around the time again no longer found, not sure if those had single GBA direct booting, I don't remember but those also had RTC support

EZ-Flash IV is one of the only options now though sadly

Both my M3 Lite and EZFA got stolen along with the consoles that had those inserted so no longer have those, by that time the carts had been very hard to find, now improbable unless it is pre owned but even pre owned I have not seen either.

Goomba I think it is lets you play GB on GBA without a passthrough device or a GB flash kit, but don't remember how well the support was for GBC games, it may of just been a GB emu though did have coloring support

EDIT: seems Goomba was updated a lot since I last looked (maybe the project was taken over as I don't recognize the site layout) but there is a Color version now, must of been a very long time back last update was in 2008, I imagine I moved onto DS by that time anyway though

    Hi, Zorlon!

I found this Supercard GBA cart. Is this a real Supercard? Do you know anything about it?

Looks good to me but SuperCard GBA was not one of the best kits, don't get me wrong though it is a very good kit, but there have been better ones, it just lacks a couple of features including RTC (Real Time Clock) that is used by a few games but most notable are the Pokemon games

Detailed information can be found at the official site still at http://eng.supercard.sc/manual/minisd_jj.html

RTC is maybe the only down side though and most GBA games have patch fixes that allow them to still be playable, one way or another

Krikzz has a GBA Everdrive in development. I can't find the article on his site, but a quick check on Google brings up a few results.

Don't buy those MiniSD Supercards. The market is flooded with Chinese ones, which seem fine but tend to fail within weeks of use. Apparently they can be revived by reflowing them, but it's not worth the hassle. As it's not the best card even when working. Just get the EZ Flash IV, amongst what actually exists it's easily the best card.

Edit: Oh, and get yourself a actual 2GB MiniSD card off eBay. Don't fool around with MicroSD adapters, they can cause problems. You'll need a MiniSD card reader too, don't fool around with SD card adapters. Basically any MiniSD adapters are junk unless you find some genuine name brand stuff that's a decade old.

*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

Nice catch I was not even aware it was cloned though it does not shock me in the slightest almost everything has a clone in one form or another (not everything but a lot)

$32 seems like a lot for a GBA flash cart, but I guess that's my only option.

You could wait for the GBA Everdrive, or use a Supercard DS2 to emulate GBA on a DS or 3DS.

You're lucky you weren't shopping for this a year ago, the going price for a EZ Flash IV was over $100. Honestly, $100 isn't unreasonable for a flashcard considering how much you save by having one.
