Question Not sure if this belongs here, but Mobile ports?

Hi, I'm not exactly new to the forums, though I haven't ever really been active. I was wondering if anyone had information on emulating ports of older games to mobile devices?

The thing is, the Android/iOS version of Final Fantasy 5 looks absolutely incredible compared to the SNES and GBA versions which are easily found here. I was wondering if there was any way to emulate those versions, as I've never used a mobile emulator as anything but a way to quickly access kik when my phone was gone.

    So any help please?

    This section:
    http://www.epforums.org/forumdisplay...Mobile-Devices

covers issues emulating older games on Android, and other similar devices.

If you want info about what platforms you can emulate on Android devices, google is your friend.

But that's the thing, by searching all I could find was information about emulators ON Android for other systems, when what I'm looking for is a way to emulate certain apps, such as the Android/iOS Port of Final Fantasy V, on a pc.

There are Android emulators out there, but they are mostly used for developing apps afaik.

Old console versions of such games can look rather nice using enhancements available for emulators on PC.
PSX games are a good example of that, many can look far better than they do on original hardware.

I don't know why you would want to emulate such games designed for tiny screens when it is very unlikely that there are any visual enhancements, or any support for troubleshooting for that matter.

I just really really liked the new sprite designs that they used for the Android/iOS versions, but if there's no simple way to emulate them, then I guess I'll just stick with the GBA version. :/

I would guess PSOne Classics versions of FF V would be better than GBA
I assume you would just emulate it via a PSP emulator like PPSSPP...I think there's even an Android version of that emu.

The PSX ver of FFV is exactly the same as the original SNES ver, reason he wants to play the mobile ver is its all new sprites and has the bonus features found in the GBA versions.
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

Oh right, what are the bonus features? This game is really old

The PSX version should have better audio than GBA though yeah?

Okay, I made an account just for this so I hope it helps.
deadlegion is wrong. there are four ways to emulate your android phone on your PC
1)If you are running ChromeOS, it natively supports android apps.
2)If you have Chrome (web browser) and a 64 bit operating system, try this http://lifehacker.com/how-to-run-and...-op-1637564101
3)You could also try Andy Emulator, which runs Android inside virtualbox. http://www.andyroid.net/
    4) If that doesn't work, there's also Bluestacks. (which I dont't think requires a VirtualBox installation.) http://www.bluestacks.com/
Hope this helps and good luck!
