Unhappy Need A Working PS1 Emulator

    I need a working PS1 emulator...

I have tried psxfin, PSXEven, and even ePSXe and none of them worked. My main problem is a black screen (psxFin just didn't even wanna run).

With ePSXe specifically, I've deleted it from the registry, did the config a thousand times, used the latest petes GL video plugins, set to nice settings, etc. Nothing worked!

I've tried 2 different bios, and 2 different iso's/img files and nothing.

I have emulators for 4 different console systems and this is the first one I have an issue with.

    All I want to do is play Spider-Man and remember my childhood memories ;~;

Can anyone help and recommend me software that works and doesn't require me to download things (plugins) from somewhere else (like ePSXe)?

    Edit:
    Here are my specs

    Intel i7 4770k 3.5ghz

    Gtx 770 2gb

    16 gb ram DDR3

    win 7 ultimate 64bit

Please read this post and then edit/reply here with more info. Chances are that someone can help with that info.

If you have a N64 emulator, look for the same game for that system. I'm pretty sure Spider-Man was released for N64, too.

The N64 version works great, except that there aren't any cutscenes

Imma try the dreamcast version if Libretro doesn't work well.

Edit: Can't get dreamcast nor Libreto to work (even looked up a tutorial). *sigh*, I guess I'll have to stick to the N64 Version. Will just use youtube for the cutscenes

Spider-Man is listed as working perfectly for ePSXe v1.7.0

I think you might be missing some crucial windows components ,

Do you have the directx redist installed?

howabout all of the microsoft Visual C++ runtimes?

Im trying to figure this out, pretty strange.

It does seem odd, from what I can tell that title has been working well via ePSXe since like 2012 Maybe even earlier idk.

    Warrior reminded me.
If you have never got ePSXe to play a game before, run it again and see if it gives you any pop-up message. If it says it is missing example.dll then search for the that .dll file on google. Find a copy, download, and anti-virus scan it. After all that you should extract it into the folder with ePSXe.exe
You might get a second pop-up, in that case do the same process for the next file. I have never had to find more than 2 files to get my ePSXe to work.

The package linked here should have BIOS for any region and more plugins than you will need. Some might be old versions, use google to find the newer ones.
Then have a look here to find a newer version of ePSXe. Overwrite the older version and it should work fine.

If epsxe didnt work for you you should try pcsx reloaded is the one i use it have better compatibility than epsxe or any other psone emulator try it out,now if you want to try the spiderman game on dreamcast youcan try (if your computer is powerfull enough) demul v0.5.82 is the best dreamcast emulator better than nulldc and in demul you can play sega naomi and atomiswave games.
But for the psone version try the emulator pcsx reloaded it have better options than epsxe.

This is a link to the ePSXe starter kit from Emuparadise. I know for certain that Spiderman works on this exact version because I personally tested it.

It comes with plugins, since I'm under the impression you don't understand how plugins work (It's very confusing, I remember starting out myself.) Run the wizard, make sure your bios, graphics plugin, sound plugin, and controller plugin are configured properly. The BIOS you should be using, is SCPH1001.

Next, make sure that you unecm the iso you got from emuparadise.me with this file, because emulators can't run .ecm files (as far as I know.)

Next, you need to select "Run ISO" from the File menu on ePSXe. If you configured everything properly it should run without a hitch. If you get any kind of error, post here and let me know what the error is and I'll see if I can help.
