Default Thinking of buying and hacking a PS3, need advice

As the title states, I am currently thinking of buying a PS3.
However, I am not sure which model I should get.
I am currently considering one of the PS2 backwards compatible models that have 4 USB ports.
As the PS4 is out, I have absolutely no problems with homebrewing it to heaven.
My question is this: Which model of PS3 should I get if I want to homebrew it and play PS1/2/3 ISOs without the actual disks on the PS3?

The one I have setup with custom firmware (allows you to do backups and homebrew), and also plays PS1 & PS2 backups, is a CECHE01. Since I got it used (and pre-hacked) I'm not sure what the original internal HDD's size was but searching for that model should help point you in the right direction. From what I understand the PS3 will need to be on firmware version 3.55 or earlier; any newer than that and you won't be able to hack it.

Also if there are any specific PS2 or PS3 games you're looking to run backups of you should check their respective compatibility lists here for PS2 and here for PS3. With PS3 games there are quite a few factors that play into whether or not you'll be able to run their backups, but the most important columns you'll probably wanna pay attention to are Discless (if you own no physical PS3 discs), External/Internal (to see whether they can be played off the internal HDD), and Updates (tells you if you can run updates for the game without messing it up, only asks if the PS3 is online). If Updates is marked as No then you should play the game with your PS3s internet disabled, otherwise it'll bug you while playing to update it.
"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"
