Unhappy Cannot get any games to run properly on any PS emulator

I have known about, but just recently "discovered" emulation. First of all this site is awesome sauce, thanks for all your hard work.

I started with the PSP emulators and got it to work no problem yay. Then I tried project64. Again none to very few issues and is working. No sound on TWINE but I'll ask about that in another thread. PS2 emulation? again, few issues. Black runs like its in mud but other games are fine. Now the PS1? I can't get anything to run correctly. I have two images burned to CDs . Fear Effect disc1 and Digimon 3. The best I've been able to do was get them both to run but with unplayable graphics issues. However, now all they both do is get a black screen when I launch the games. I have tried everything I could, trying all day to get this to work. I am at my wits end. PLEASE, PLEASE HELP.

I'm currently trying ePSXe 1.8. I also tried PSXCR, Preconfigured ePSXe 1.7, PSXeven, and SSSPSX

    A couple of suggestions:

    1. Try to make ISOs of the games or download them from the main site. ISOs work vastly better than Disc images because there is no lag issues due to the spinning and reading speed of the DVD drive.
    2. Your specs are a bit weak, but it should be plenty for PSX emulation. Did you try other plugins? Pete's Soft Driver is a software plugin which makes ePSXe use only your CPU for graphics processing. This may fix graphic issues at the cost of quality.
    3. Did you google for optimal configurations for the games on the PSX datacenter? They usually have useful tips on how to get games to run along with optimal settings.

I would actually prefer to make ISOs out of the games as I dont want 1200 discs floating around but everything I did wanted to be burned. I have ImgBurn and PowerISO. Can I make ISOs with these?

I tried SEVERAL plugins, none of them worked. I started with Pete's drivers. I'll double-check this soft driver.

Did not try PSX datacenter...Will look into it. Thanks for the suggestions. If anyone has more ideas I'd love to hear them.

Just tried the soft driver, I'm still only getting a black screen.

Tried PSX Datacenter, used the Digimon 3 config and got a black screen. Threw in Fear Effect just to see and it loaded once with the aspect ratio wrong. It would not run again. What else can I try? ::: slams head into desk over and over and over and over again:::::

will try pSX emulator, hey everyone needs six different emulators right? I'll try another game but I'm having difficulty turning them into ISOs, dont want to keep burning them to cd.

    Groot: sorry, I hadn't realized it double-posted.

pSX emulator is working on both games! Unbelievable. Didn't game to change anything. It just worked. Thank you for pointing that one out.

Using disc images is generally preferrable to using actual discs with your emulators, yes.

Just a small correction though; .ISO files are just one type of disc image, and aren't always the preferred file type to use with PS1 games. Many games use CDDA audio tracks, which means they'll need a descriptor file (a .cue when using .bin images, or .ccd when using .img) to tell where on the disc image music tracks are located. If you download a game in .bin/.cue or .img/.ccd format, converting them to a single .ISO file can break this type of audio and is not recommended.

Yes, use ImgBurn's "Create image file from disc" option to rip any discs you have and make disc images. If you've downloaded the games and they're .bin/.cue or .img/.ccd files, you don't need to do any special converting to use them with an emulator.
"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"
