Controls will not work ingame menu

HI people
so i have downloaded the latest version of pcxs2 twice restarted my pc after the install each time im using a ps3 controller and motion joy ds3 tool.
im trying to play MX vs ATV unleashed but when ever i load the game everything works fine except the menu controls iv tried it with two different iso's and a different game and the controls only work when im playing the game.

another thing is when i try and map my controlls sometimes it will randomly change from xinput to dx controller http://i.imgur.com/JRFhb22.jpg
oh and one more thing, i setup my keyboard on my second pad and it wont work either the only buttons that work are x, triangle, square, and circle.
please help ive spent all night and morning trying to find a solution online and came up empty handed so this is my last hope.

UPDATE:when i dont use the motion joy controller drivers i can use the dpad to control things but my analogs aren't even working with the basic controller driver.
