Default Play PS2 Backups Without Chipping/SwapMagic

    Hi,

I'm new here so sorry if this is in the wrong place, but it looked like a great forum so I really wanted to join.

I've got backups of a few PS2 games I own and the originals are getting quite scratched, so I want to burn these ISOs and play them instead. I've read loads of tutorials here (this was the most useful) but all of them seem to require chipping my console or getting SwapMagic - is there nothing I can do that doesn't involve buying something else?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Sorry but there is no method other than buying a certain disc/device to get freemcboot installed onto a memory card.

The one place I always bought from in the US was eStarland, they used to have Swapmagic in stock but I don't think they carry it anymore.
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

You can always get a friend with a modded system to install freemcboot onto a memory card for you. It can be passed around freely like that. But no friends means you gotta buy something or send out your memory card.
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here
