Default Hardware Differences Between American SNES and the Super Famicom

I was wondering what differences in internal hardware there are between the American Super Nintendo and the Japanese Super Famicom. One reason that I'm asking this is that there is a newly-found glitch, which allows you to get a cloud in your inventory on the first level, that hasn't been achieved using a Famicom, but successful using an American SNES to play the same game (the Japanese edition for both). The glitch works with both version on an American console but not the SFC.
The other reason is simple curiosity

EDIT: The game is Super Mario World, sorry for leaving it out initially.

EDIT: The glitch has since been achieved relatively regularly with Japanese copies; there is some difficulty in achieving the glitch, and as there are fewer speedrunners using the Japanese version, there were fewer successes, creating the impression of a difference in copies.

My bad, the game is Super Mario World. But my primary question about the hardware still stands.

EDIT: There isn't much documentation on the glitch easily found by searching, so here is a link to a video in which the glitch is performed. The glitch itself is performed shortly after the 45 second mark.

As for differences it will minimal, most consoles of that time to have all 3 regions available on them by changing a few solder points both display output NTSC/PAL and regions J/U/E

I see how the bug is triggered though I think, unfortunately I'm not going to give myself time to mess with that though

It's a new glitch that was found though, that's why there is little info about it, bug google did find other vids ect anyway
