What has happened is that your computer isn't sure where to boot from. Most likely because your previous windows installation had a special hidden recovery drive and you installed a fresh one without recovery so now you have two bootable drives. This can be fixed (I've done it before) but it's a real pain in the ass. It's easier to just back up everything you have, format the entire HDD, and make a complete fresh install with new drives.

And I'm officially confused. How do I format the HDD anyway? 'Cause I can't get to the desktop.

When you're choosing which drive to install win7 to, it lets you manage your drives. Delete all your drives, make new ones, choose one for installing win7 and it'll automatically format it. You'll lose everything you have on your other drives though, so back them up to an external HDD or something.

I usually don't either, but giants seem to be weak to them since the arrows did almost no damage and were too slow. I dual wield flames and electricity and sprayed it on him and it seemed to do lots more damage a lot faster so I went with that.

Try Dragon Aspect + Marked for Death Shouts and then do whatever you want. Summoning a dragon is helpful if you have to fight a few of them. I've fought at least 2 giants at once and a small group of mammoths even without Shouts.
