Default PS1 Games to Play Without a Memory Card

I recently managed to get my PS2 to play burnt copies of PS1 games, but I have lost my PS1 memory card, and that significantly reduces the games that I can play.
My question is: what PS1 games can be enjoyed without a memory card? Several games have a password system or are just fun to play (CTR is an example of the latter).

Probably most fighters like the Street Fighter Alphas etc.

Twisted Metal comes to mind outside that genre. Can't remember any password games though.

If you want to solely devote yourself to FF7, you might be able to get through that. I had a PS1 with a broken door sensor so that I could play with the lid down, up, or the top cover completely removed. I got to disc 2 with no memory card iirc.

As for street fighter games, a lot of them have "unlockables" that would kind of suck to lose from no memory card... I think you might be better off simply emulating PS1 as I believe they spin at different speeds than PS2 games and you can mess up your system playing them.

    Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Just buy a memory card. Official ones can still be like $10-15 new on ebay but if you look carefully you can get new unofficial ones for as little as $1.60 (prices are Australian).

    Eg:

    Spoiler warning:

    Yar!

Also check any local thrift stores. Who knows you may be able to find one for a buck or less.

Thanks for the replies. I propably will get a replacement memory card, I am just unable to currently. Though as for password games, I believe that Croc: The Legend of the Gobbos had an optional password continue system.

I've just checked, and Crash Bandicoot has a password system, though I'm not sure how to get the passwords. I tested it using an emulator (most games run better on original hardware than my computer, so I prefer that to an emulator) and I couldn't find the password after completing a level.

Alien Trilogy have passwords. Also you can play Metal Slug games without memory card.

I loved to play "War games". At end of each level You would get code so Yo can continue.
