Default Help with Dreamcast SD Adapter

    hi to all

i have made the diy sd adapter but with last dreamshell booting from cd ,it gives me can´t open the bin file ,only booted once when i took the led,but thats it,then never booted again ,neither with 8 gb sandisc class for ,and not with 8gb samsung class 10.
Only boots okay from sd card and with dreamshell version 4

Try an SD card that is smaller than 4GBs and get back with us. Not sure, but it may not support sdhc.

    Wrong section...

Will move it in a moment to Everything Console

I totally missed this post :/

The later versions of Dreamshell is very very picky as to what it reads thinking of version 4.0 RC1 (Not looked at the very latest version yet) it will just not see the card at all for some of my cards
Dreamshell 4.0.0 Beta 4 will read more of my SD/Micro SD cards though but is a little clunky to use

I can honestly say I'm not sure if it does or does not support SDHC though, most the cards I have used with it are 2GB (I think it does but not personally tested any)

A bios mod will not aid Dreamshell reading SD cards

Dreamshell CDR should boot though with and without a SD card inserted (Booting without unless that was fixed will result in no SD being seen, to use it to read an SD the SD must be in before booting), it's fuctionally is more than SD reading, just sounds like a damaged disc/bad burn to be honest, though as I stated I have not looked at the latest version, I use the SD more to back my saves up, than anything else, maybe test some homebrew but asides from that it's not great for playing games from due to the slow data rate (slower than a standard SD card, because of the port speed not the SD speed).
