    Default xbox live NAT error

can someone help, i checked here http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/x.../9/t/7448.aspx but since it gives no specifics its not much help.

currently logged on to the router (least that part was easy) and it doesn't give an exact model, it just says axessteel MV400 series, so i don't know what model it is. oh and it says on the error popup on the 360 that the NAT type is moderate.

i'm looking here right now but i'm not sure if thats right or not http://portforward.com/english/appli...0/Axesstel.htm

if someone could help with this then i could do multiplayer with xbox live.

Just set your 360 to a static IP and enable DMZ for just that IP on your router.

I have a wired LAN. Never had any probs doing it with various brands of wired routers for 360 and PS3. I probably could help you, but you should be able to work it out for yourself.

Grab a manual for your router.
On your 360 set a static IP address.
Enable DMZ on your router and use only that address.

Or instead of worrying about DMZ:
    Just use port forwarding.
    or
    Enable UPnP.

There are a few things you can try to sort this out, but don't try them all at once or you may cause conflict.

well, after following 2 different guides (1 for setting up a static IP on the 360 and 1 for the necessary port forwarding) at that port forwarding website it still wouldn't work right. it stopped giving a NAT error but this time it gave a different error only with no popup on the 360.

i'll deal with this later. its annoying how complicated this all has to be, shame it can be as simple as multiplayer on the pc almost always is. :/

PS3 is no different really. I used auto settings for a bit, but lag was slightly decreased after using the static IP & DMZ method.
Using DMZ just for your console IP's isn't much of a security risk, but you have to use static IP's and just enter the IP's of your consoles.
You don't want your computers in a demilitarised zone
