What is your favorite 'pick up and play' game?

Tetris, it will always be tetris. Own it for Gameboy (both B&W and DX), DS, 3DS, PS2 and even have it on my mobile!
Always loved that game, even though I'm not a master even after years playing it! I just pick it up and find it hard to stop. It's more of an effective drug than the latest druggie-games for smartphones!

Hells yeah. Definitely Tetris for me as well. I've been playing it a lot more recently and I'm pretty good at it again.

definitely any classic-vania game, with maybe the exception of simons quest, mainly because you actually have to pay attention to where youre going. lol.

doom is another great choice along with max payne.

Hmm Team Fortress 2, Pokemon Firered, Perfect Dark oh man especially PD. Man this game may be old but it hasn't aged compared to the rest of my games, basically i can go in there on Combat Simulator with at least another person and still have an awesome time. Heck I can even goof around purposely failing on the 1p missions because guess what? I already got WAR! HA!

I always fall back on REZ (Dreamcast, PS2) or REZ HD (Xbox360,PS3.) These games make me forget my worries and the style is much like pick up and play arcade with a few unlockables. These games are not easy so you can get better and better with time. I just love them. Also when you die there are no continues so you need to be good to get past the entire game.

For the past couple weeks I've been playing Advanced Guardian Heroes (GBA) in between renders, as I only have 15-30 minutes at a time. Don't think I'll ever get sick of that game...
