Red face GameBoid Fast-Forward / Turbo not working

I recently downloaded GameBoid and Pokemon Emerald for my android 4.2.2 phone, and overall it has been working quite well for the past few days. However, the fast-forward feature does not work and I would very much like to figure out how to speed up the gameplay. Ive checked under the setting tab, but my only video setting options are scaling mode, automatic frame skip (y/n), and max allowable frame skips. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Maybe your phone is just not good enough for fast forward to do anything

Android version has nothing to do with your phones specs

if the phone is fast enough you would see a speed boost just from having Autoframe skip off and having max frame skips on

if that does not make it any faster your phone is not fast enough for it to have any effect

Thats a definite possibility, as my phones nothing special. If it sheds any further light - the left and right trigger buttons also dont appear as part of my on-screen controls. Also, as Im writing this, my roommate just showed me his gameboid settings and fast-forward speed is clearly an option in his settings page. Thoughts?

Edit: we have the same .apk file for gameboid

Shutting off Auto frame skip and raising the max frame skip to 10 (the max available value) had a noticeable effect on the speed of the game in terms of battling / skipping the battle text, which is awesome if thats as far as i get, but I don't suppose you've got any other ideas?

Thanks for all the help either way

Go into key mappings in input settings and make sure L+R aren't set to any physicle buttons - that may be why they're not showing up. Under input also check hide controls and make sure L+R isn't ticked off. I also make sure my layout is bottom+bottom that way there's room at the top for them to show up.

Also in frame skip settings you can set the actual fast forward speed from 1.5,2.3,4 and 8. try fiddling with those.
