I think Ninty is just strict.... granted I'm pretty sure their method of thinking back in the 80's was they were reviving a crashed market, and wanted to make sure they succeeded and didn't go the same way Atari went. I can applaud them for that, and as dumb as some of their decisions have been over the years, they never throw it in your face that they are just out to make money. You don't see them pulling the CoD card with their franchises and shoving the same shit down your throat year after year (although Mario games have been a bit suspect lately).
Don't forget, now Sega's old mascot is about to feel the same wrath. Sonic Team won't even have a say.

missing out on the NES is pretty harsh. So many great franchises have come from that era of gaming.

Poor Sonic - his transition to 3D has not been a smooth ride. He needs a good side scroller game, and just leave it at that.

When they made Colors, I seen a glimmer. It's not going to be easy, especially hearing the reviews of Lost World, but they're learning. We'll see one game, just one game that even the naysayers will shut up about.
It shall be, Sonic 3 HD

    Yes.
Go, find a NES, grab some games, play the ever loving God out of it, then report back here.
If you have a soul left you will find at least one title to love from that era.

They're talking about the South African kid that hasn't been here much since his cat was murdered.

I've played a hell lot of contra. Contra 1 on NES and Contra "4" (or whatever) on Mega Drive.
Castlevania, a bit. It was too demanding so I gave up because of time issues. I'll pick it up again sometime.
    Megaman, I did 2 levels.

Funny thing is, Shane's doing fine, and he's really serious about modding Cave Story, got a concept, storyboard and even characters made. Now I know what you're thinking, why do you know this? Reasons.

Because that's the only games on there.
I don't know start small, Duck Tales. Then advance to the staples, like Double Dragon.
