Default How to use PSP roms?

So I downloaded a few PSP roms but when I open them in Winrar there's a folder and inside that is a bunch of files. What do I do now?

Below is a screenshot I took from Winrar. On the left are the files from the Rock Band Unplugged .rar and on the right are the files from SSX On Tour. They each have different file namings so I'm especially confused.

Use 7zip. These are split archives.

In the case of the right list, extract from part .001 only. 7zip will merge and extract.

The left list could have a .rar file as the first file (but I can't see it there).

    Spoiler warning:

    Thanks! I got it working.

Also, do you happen to know if it's possible/easy to load these onto a PSP itself?

If your PSP is modded you just copy those to the ISO folder on the root of the memstick pro duo or if you have one of the newer models that do not use memsticks it is the same but to the internal memory, just put the PSP into USB mode and hook it up to your PC

If your PSP is not modded you need to mod it first before you can run anything that is not officially obtained that ISO's are not Officially would be via a UMD disc or via the PS Store

If there is no ISO folder just make one

By default there should be the following folders

    MUSIC
    PICTURES
    PSP
    VIDEO

Once you add the extra folder it should look like

    ISO
    MUSIC
    PICTURES
    PSP
    VIDEO

Is it a lot of work to mod a PSP? I don't have one right now, but I was thinking about getting a 3000.

I have never modded a 3000 model but from what I have seen for modding that model it is easy enough, it also depends on the firmware version it has pre installed as the latest firmware hacks are not permanent and need to be activated every time your turn on the console

The 1k and 2k models I use a Battery hacker that makes the battery go into service mode and is very much automated once you have the correct files on the memstick

Take a look yourself though at the guides for 3k models aka firmware 6.XX

Myself I just use Firmware 5.50 Prome-4 but you can't use that on 3K models that start at firmware 6.00 if I remember correctly

I would honestly suggest the 1000 or 2000 if you want an easy time hacking (for beginners) but it shouldn't be much more work for a 3000 as Zorlon suggested
