Unhappy Help with Pokemon Black V2 PC

Hey all! I am new in all this and will much appreciate your help if I am doing something wrong accept my advanced apologies.
Happens that I recently downloaded the Pokemon Black V2 to play on my pc (yeah I know kinda loved it back in time) so happens that my pokemons are never leveling up, NEVER and has me crazy already. Is it normal? OR NOT? Just help PLEASEEE thanks so much in advance. I know I have to train them but trust me... I have done many things already and nothing... The EXP bar is like always dead and I don't remember this to be like that back in time... Since is for PC, will never work?

Are you using a patched or clean rom?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that rom on the main site might be a clean one...so the copy protection hasn't been patched.
You'll need a patched rom if you're emulating.

Unfortunately it seems all the patched roms posted here in the forums have dead links at the moment.

Get Attachment 38349 to AP patch your games

DS Scene Rom Tool saves you from having to find patches as the prog itself will update, it should be the first thing it does...
You do not need to use the Collection browser just close that
Use the main window to select the rom that needs patching wait for it to fully load the rom
Then click on the AP Patch tab to see if it does need patching
If it does it will have a patch info for it
Then just go to the export tab so you can have it exported to a new file with the patch applied

Thanks so much for that info! I actually read one of your responses to a thread about this and tried but seems that it doesn't work for me don't know why. I opened the Rom Tool and asked to update, I did that as you said but then appears something that says "there was an error during the update process" "Please try again or visit the website to download the latest pack" Meaning it didn't update and couldn't see if my version of PB2 needed to patch or not... So may I ask you if you have any other idea for this? I will appreciate it but thanks so much for your kindness

I have created an ips patch for it, included is a simple ips patch engine as well.

the patch is for the nds rom, so do not apply this to a zip file.
