Hey everyone, I'm Nate and i need help please

I have all of the needed files to turn and old school slot machine software into a game that runs on my pc. i even had directions from one of the smart members of the forum. Still have no idea what to do.

I have each file downloaded, in separate folders, and I believe I unzipped them. winrar or something. Anyway the emulator is a bunch of files in a folder. Well so is the other two peices of software i need and I don't know what to do with em. Do you think I could email them to someone here or provide the links and somebody might help me?

Please tell us more about the game (perhaps its name?) and the machine you want to emulate. Also, tell us what files you've got in each directory.

MAME would be the usual emulator, but yeah just give us something to work on like a name of a game at the very least

P.S. old school games or roms are normally zipped up and ment to be kept that way and should not be extracted but each zip file kept in a roms folder

At the moment we can only give generic help as we don't know what games you are talking about or for what system they might be for or exactly how old school you are talking about

I can delete them and start over but I'd still be stuck with three folder with files i don't know what to do with. That link I provided has everything about it

This is a quick start emulation guide. I have read through it 3 times and am more confused each time. That's why I asked for your help

Cherry master 97 and Mame are on that page. there is one more I believe you have to have one sec...

ok i was wrong. They are all right there together on the same page. One is called a parent rom. Like I said all three are there and i downloaded them.

Copy ncb3.zip and cmast97.zip. Go to where you have installed the emulator, go to a folder called "roms", paste them here. You don't need to unzip these two files.

Now run MAME (the .exe file), select your game in mame.

Somehow i missed your other post. Ok i'm not sure I have installed the emulator or know how. I am getting the dowload folder out now and will see if i can do that then follow your steps. I will edit as i go. I'm not very computer smart so I will probably do something wrong

Better yet get yourself mameui (google it) it has features that come in handy for checking your game files aswell as being a very nice gui version of MAME

You most probably won't need to unzip any of the downloaded files.

I will go one better do not extract MAME based roms they must be kept in zip files stored in the rom folder

MAMEui will need to be extracted though, winzip is not ever needed but a better extract program is 7-zip as it covers a lot more than winzip does and has support some of our other system roms and iso's for systems like GBA NDS PSX ect, winzip will not be able to extract most of our files

What do i do if I have already unzipped them? NEVERMIND....\


here is the current situation. I have the files zipped. meaning ncb and cmast... MAME32 is open and running i assume but i can't figure out how to properly put the zipped files in the MAME32

in the roms folder, already answered that before you asked

I still recommend using mameui over mame32

Anyway if you royally messed the roms up you can use clrmamepro to fix those if you want to (that's another bit of explaining but oh well, not tonight though not by me anyway)

There is no Rom or Roms folder inMAME32... unless it's hiding in another folder

i feel dumb... i didn't scroll down far enough to see it

make a roms folder then if it hasn't got one to start with

as I keep saying get MAMEui it is easier to use, and supports more features
