California rolls and Philadelphia rolls are western takes on sushi invented very recently, which are commonly seen by Japanese people as foreign curiosities that are "not really sushi". The things I mentioned are all seen as Japanese, have been around for more or less as long as the "real" sushi you're talking about, and are staples on the menus of even the most traditional, remote sushi places in Japan
