Yellow is also a very good one, that's the one where you have Pikachu following you around. Really, it's your choice. Red/Blue/Green/Yellow are older, and Fire Red/Leaf Green are newer, but also take place in Kanto. I really enjoyed Yellow as well. It's up to you whether you wanna play older and harder, or newer and some-what easier.
