Try using the Peops soft driver which has the greatest compatibility.

You may want to include what settings and plugins you were using.

Anyway PEOpS soft plugin comes with ePSXe 1.9.0

http://www.pbernert.com/html/gpu.htm#SOFTWIN when it fully loads the first one is PEOpS soft plugin for windows

To stop the error stop using PSXfin and use ePSXe

No you don't have to but it's a good start to make sure the game is working because it is the most reliable driver and does not have confusing settings to cope with
