I seem to muck up the Computer corner each time I want questions answered, so here we are!

Anyone have experience with DACs? Preferably Serial Interface audio conversion DACs. I have a TDA1543 in one of my circuits, but this is well outdated. The DAC is 16-bit and a cheap alternative seems to have a 24-bit resolution and the purpose IO am shooting for is a lo-fi sound. Will the 24-bit DAC be too hi-fi? The alt I am looking at is the CS4334/5/8/9. Apperently tyhe TDA1543 has somewhat of a cult following so although obsolete, it may be too great to replace.
