Silly question but are you extracting your games? They normally come zipped.

Yes all my games are extracted. As I said they play fine on my laptop. Well not perfectly they DO have lag but I've come to expect that.

P.E.Op.s. Soft Driver (GL drivers have issues with some game or require fixes)
ePSXe SPU core (It's just more compatible)
ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core (ASPI does not work in Windows 7)

Make sure you have the bios setup (a bios file is required)

for testing just boot the bios up (Not a game)

Please state a couple of games you are trying if the bios boots fine but not the games

Also what file type are you trying to boot the games from?

The bios boots up just fine and I've tried .CCD .IMG .BIN .CUE .ISO as for games I've tried Jade Cocoon, FF7 8 and 9, digimon world 2 3 and 2003 as well as digital card battle, Alundra 1 and 2, and Silent Hill. And I just tried with the exact plugins you suggested but it still stayed on a black screen.

Always run from a cue file or a ccd when a cue is not available from File>Run ISO.

If you have any ecm files do not rename them, they must be ran through unecm to get the real bin or img file.

Never convert a CD image via software such as Magic ISO or any of it's many many clones this will make a PSX CD image stop working, I only mention this because you say you have tested ISO format that PSX games should not be in most the time, you do get the odd one though, but ISO format does not do you any favors and converting will destroy special xa headers used by PSX CD's.

For your tests just use FF7 certain versions of 8 and 9 have copy protection, possibly some of the other games as well I don't remember off the top of my head but can figure through those later, we just want to get the thing booting normally first.

P.S. do give the emulator time to boot the game

P.P.S. Enable the log from Run>Enable Logs you will then need to close and restart the emulator

Then at least you can see what the emulator is trying to do in the Dos type box that is shown

It has started working now. I'm using the three drivers you suggested it was just taking longer before for the games to boot up. They boot up in under a minute now. Thanks for the help Zorlon.
