    Default Upgrading ancient Wii softmod

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good guide for updating a softmodded Wii to the latest shit?

I'm clueless about Wiis, but I'm not stupid. I soft modded it in 2009, so as you can imagine it's incredibly out of date. I have no idea where to start, possibly restore it to factory settings and re softmod it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Use ModMii. It will generate a custom guide based on your Wii's specifications.

    Oh wow, excellent.

I'll start tinkering with it tomorrow afternoon I think.

Thanks. (I'll be back if I need any more help)

EDIT: Updated and it's running much better now.

Just a quick run through of what is new... well new ish, most of this has been around for a while now

GameCube from HDD (must be formatted as Fat 32 with 32bit clusters, best done via Dios Mios)
Virtual NAND from HDD (i.e. Channels can be ran from HDD including Virtual Console games and other WiiWare games) [can also be used for save data]

Updated USB loaders can show all GC games Wii games including the real Nand installs and Virtual Nand installs and all can be booted from within the USB loader

The Virtual Nand is a god send for me it's just as fast as internal nand with the bonus that I'm not going to run out of space any time soon, I filled my internal nand with save data so the Virtual Nand has enabled me to be able to use Virtual Console and WiiWare again without filling any Nand space

P.S. Hello Inferno not seen you around these here parts for a very long time

hmmm. I hate to bump something a month old but...

I too just updated my Wii with the newest usbloader gx...
I dumped a load of my gc games onto the hard drive no problems,
when i go to play one it prompts me to copy it to the sd card...
    this is pretty poor...

am I doing something wrong? or is that as good as it gets?

I never got GC to work on my modded Wii. I tried everything I could possibly find, but finally gave up.

Then the kitten ate my sensor cord.
